Gemmotherapy Remedies
Gemmotherapy is a form of herbal medicine prompted by principals of homeopathic drainage and stimulation and regeneration of cells, tissues and organs, uses freshly harvested embryonic tissue of trees and shrubs ~ plant bud extracts, shoots, rootlets, seeds, bark and in a few cases sap.
This raw material is taken at the peak time of the tree or shrub’s annual germination in the spring for buds or the autumn for seeds. Certain plant hormones and enzymes are released during this process, and in some cases are only present in the plant at this time.
Gemmotherapy was included in herbal therapies in France in the Pharmacopée Francaise in 1965.
Gemmotherapy remedies are made by a maceration of botanical material with glycerin and water or with glycerin, water and alcohol in a dilution 1:9 and succussion.
Gemmotherapy liquid remedies come in 1X potency,and are bottled in 1 oz.(30 ml) and 2 oz.(60 ml) and 4 oz (120ml) amber glass bottles with dropper tops. Many of the gemmotherapy remedies are now also available in combinations
Typical dosage is 20 drops daily in split dose AM / PM or as directed by Prescriber. There are approximately 20 drops per ml.
These products have not been evaluated by the FDA. The product’s claims are based only on theories of homeopathy from the 1700's that are not accepted by most modern medical experts.
